Strategically applied internventions within  the food production chain, a process that extends from the farm to the table, beginning with animal husbandry and passing through successive stages from the slaughter house to the manufacture, transport and sale of food up to the consumer¡¦s table have proven successful to reduce or eliminate the risk of zoonosis associated with foods of animal origin.  Proactive procedure at one or many stages minimizes the risk by reducing or eliminating the hazard/pathogen of concern from entering the food chain.  Interventions such as Hazard Analysis Critical Control point based programs, monitoring surveillance technical standards, legislation, policies, inspection program and communicaiton has all proven successful internventions to reduce tothe risk of zoonosis if appalied appropriately
